UFC 155: MJ's Picks & Parlays

With 2012 coming to a close, UFC 155 looks to end the year with a bang with an unbelievable card and a much-anticipated rematch between JDS and Cain Velasquez. Between Cain and JDS, there are no Heavyweights other than Alistair Overeem that have gone unscathed. The true champ will emerge with the former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 Champ up next. 2013 looks to be another great year and no doubt will be off to a great start with UFC 155.

So, here we go . . .

UFC 155 Picks:

JDS vs Cain Velazquez 2

With wins over Nelson, Carwin, Mir, Cain, Crocop, Struve & Werdum, JDS has been riding on top of the Heavyweight Division for quite some time now. Cain looks to rebound and continue his winning ways that earned him victories over Nogueira, Lesnar, Kongo, Rothwell & Bigfoot. JDS is just too confident to lose. JDS by 1st Round TKO. Welcome to the Dos Santos Era!

Tim Boetch vs Constantinos Phillipou

Boetch is just too well-rounded and too experienced for Phillipou at this point in his career. Wins over Lombard and Okami don't come easy and Boetch could be just a win or two away from a title shot. While Phillipou may be on a four fight win streak, wins over Fukuda and McGee are just not as impressive. This is a big step up in competition and I'm betting on a stumble. Boetch all day.

Jim Miller vs Joe Lauzon

Just like Rodney Dangerfield, Joe Lauzon just can't seem to get any respect. The perennial underdog is coming off of a victory over Jamie Varner and an uncharacteristic loss to Anthony Pettis. Miller's loss to Diaz via guillotine happens to be a serious strength of Lauzon's. I'd stay away from this one, but as part of a 5 teamer I'm going with J-Lau for the upset.

Yushin Okami vs Alan Belcher

Belcher is on his way up . . . Okami is on his way down. That about sums up the momentum heading into this match up. Okami has done just about everything he is going to in the sport while Belcher is just hitting his stride. Belcher takes this one either by a razor close decision or opens up a Palhares sized can of whoop ass and finishes Okami. Either way, Belcher's my pick.

Melvin Guillard vs Jamie Varner

While Melvin said Varner would never get another shot at him and then quickly recanted, that shouldn't change the outcome of this one. Guillard blasts Varner and ends it quickly. Guilllard by nasty KO.

3 Pick: JDS, Boetch, Guillard - $100 to win $435

4 Pick: JDS, Boetch, Guillard, Belcher - $100 to win $921

5 Pick: JDS, Boetch, Guillard, Belcher, Lauzon - $100 to win $2760
