Fight Night 5 Delivers!

Sin City Fights in conjunction with Real MMA put on an amazing show Friday, May 11th at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Fight Night 5 featured 8 total bouts headlined by a much-anticipated match up between two of the top amateur 145 pounders in Las Vegas. Fight Night 5 took it to the next level with a star-studded event that featured a performance by R&B and Hip Hop star Lloyd, a guest appearance by the youngest professional DJ in the country and an autograph session with Top 10 Lightweight, Gray Maynard. Lloyd wooed the ladies in the crowd during his intermission performance singing a medley of his greatest hits. As if that weren't enough, DJ Baby Chino was on the wheels of steel spinning records as the youngest professional DJ in the country. Texas born and Vegas raised, DJ Baby Chino kept the crowd upbeat and ready for a great night of fights. Gray Maynard was classy as always and very accommodating to the throng of fans that wanted to meet him and get his autograph.

If Sin City Fights and Real MMA keep putting on shows like this, they are going to need a much bigger venue. If you haven't been down to see how these guys put on a show, you have to experience it. The match making was spot on, the officiating was great, and the production of the show was what every amateur night of fights should ever hope to be.

The Main Event of the night featured a Championship Fight between two of the best amateur Featherweights around. "Ruthless" Rudy Morales (5-3) out of the Wanderlei Fight Team was matched up against Boostayre "Bullit" Nefarios (5-1) of Team Beastman. To say that these two young fighters didn't like each other would be an understatement. Their genuine hate for each other fueled a battle that was one for the ages. Both fighters came to finish and after putting on a great display of well-rounded back and forth action in the first round, the crowd was going nuts. The second round picked right up where the first left off only to see a disqualification mar what should have been the fight of the night.

A minute or so into the second round, Rudy caught Boostayre with a nasty low blow that sent the "Bullit" crumpling to his knees. Before the ref could jump in to stop the action, Rudy lived up to his nickname of ruthless and continued to blast his reeling opponent with uncontested punches. The ref finally split them up and attempted to send Rudy to a neutral corner only to be met with resistance. After an exchange of words, an adrenaline charged Rudy was DQ'd  for failing to follow the referees directions. It was a bizarre scene that left many in the crowd calling for a rematch.

My K.O. of the Night pick goes out to Christian Fowler who caught Ivan Mondragun with a looping right hand that sent him crashing to the canvass. "The Thirst" jumped at the opportunity to finish his opponent and did just that with a vicious ground and pound assault that forced the ref to jump in and stop the fight.

Fight of the Night went to two classy guys that put on a great display of skill, sportsmanship and heart. Terrion Ware took a decision win over Regis Spicer in what was a solid performance by both young fighters. Their performance along with the respect they showed for each other, the venue and the sport warranted the Fight of the Night award.

Sin City Fights and Real MMA put on a spectacular show that highlighted everything fans love about MMA. Be sure to check them out the next time you're in Vegas for a great show that never fails to deliver.
